Cristobal Santamaría is a Chilean nature documentalist. He has collaborated in several large wildlife cinema productions, filming pumas in the Patagonia and whales in the Southern Seas, among others. Over his extensive career, he has become one of the greatest nature documentalists, camera operators and drone operators in Chile and Latin America.
Cristobal and our Reserve Coordinator, Santiago Rosado, met during the Santiago Wild Film Festival Audiovisual Atelier in 2023, together with some of the best nature documentalists in Latin America. After Santiago’s stories and images of El Silencio, several participants committed to visit this nature heaven and its biodiversity, among them, Cristobal. In June 2024, he and other fellow Chilean and Argentinean documentalists visited the reserve for a few days and were not disappointed: they lived many adventures and captured amazing shooting of El Silencio’s wildlife, as seen on this short video filmed and edited by Cristobal.
